Our History
A family story that began with a dream and Pat's savings.
Founded by the late Ronnie Cameron in 1968, and still run by the Cameron family today.
-
1968
Ballylesson House
Ronnie Cameron had worked for the parks department in Belfast but always dreamed of owning his own garden centre and landscape business. With more than a little persuasion, his wife Pat parted with her savings and they bought Ballylesson House. And so the story began.

-
1968
The nursery is born
Ballylesson Garden Centre was managed by Pat, who worked tirelessly to build the reputation it has today, while Ronnie concentrated on the landscaping. Land beside Ballynahatty House was bought, a glass house was erected, and the landscaping and wholesale nursery was born.

-
1970s to 80s
A leading contractor
Ronnie worked with local public authorities and private clients, and Cameron Landscapes grew rapidly to become one of the leading landscape contractors in the North of Ireland.

-
1987
Geoffrey joins
Ronnie's son Geoffrey joined his father and developed the grounds maintenance division. Into the 90s, the company won numerous grounds maintenance contracts and the workforce grew to over 50, working all over the province.

-
1996
Kathryn joins
Ronnie's daughter Kathryn joined the company after completing her business degree, working mainly in the office and taking care of an ever increasing workload.
-
1999 onwards
The next generation
Since Ronnie's death in 1999, Geoffrey's wife Heather and Kathryn's husband Shaun have joined the company and have been closely involved in the continued expansion and renovation of the business you see today.

With a record 7 Bog Oak awards for the best overall scheme in Ireland, private or commercial, and a newly renovated Garden Centre, Café & Deli, we look forward to building our reputation with customers, clients and contractors in the years ahead.
